At the Resilient HQ, we are expanding our mission from the pastures north of Houston to the pillared halls of democracy, the seat of America’s military and political power: Washington, DC.
We believe America can be as resilient as we can be in our own lives; a freedom to pursue life, liberty, and happiness which was afforded to us thanks to war fighters like the Generalissimo of this show, a seasoned former UFC fighter and Force Recon Marine named Chad Robichaux.
My name is Richie McGinniss and unlike Chad, I did not fight abroad. Or anywhere beyond a few parking lots, bars, or at the local hockey rink. I studied Arabic and Middle Eastern history at Georgetown, but after living over there I decided to work in American media because what I saw over there, from my view, couldn't be fixed. I figured that especially in America we had a better chance than the millenia-old tribal blood feuds that remain in the Middle East. After well over a decade working in DC media, I must say I didn't realize the institution could become so brazenly partisan while masquerading as providers of the objective truth.
One thing Chad and I agree on is that when you spend time over there, you realize that everyone—no matter what side of the conflict—would love to come to America for a fresh start. We don’t hide our worldview in an effort to remain “unbiased” as many in the media claim to do today. We lay it out transparently so you can understand the lens through which we view events. America may not be perfect—both Chad and I have witnessed some of the darker moments in American history—but in spite of that we both concur: The United States is the best country we got on this rock.
While Chad fought in the trenches against these tribal forces in Afghanistan, I witnessed the swift violence and even death that can come when the tribal politics that endured over there flood the streets over here. I was nearly shot when I was dumb enough to run after Joseph Rosenbaum when he chased down Kyle Rittenhouse and lunged for his gun at a riot in Kenosha in August of 2020. After testifying as a key witness and named victim in Kyle Rittenhouse's trial, I have become acutely aware of how American tragedies can be manipulated by the media to stoke incendiary narratives on this side or that.
I embedded in BLM protests/riots, then the Stop the Steal protests in DC, and finally followed the mob into the Capitol on January 6. I found myself on the other side of the House Doors as rioters outnumbered police. As they smashed the windows and tried to pry the doors open, on the inside House the Sergeant at Arms pointed their pistols at the mob because members of the House were still filing from the floor. I once again feared that I might be shot, though this time it was within our legislative body rather than in a rust belt city called Kenosha. And once again, the media framed the tragedy based solely on partisan, rather than patriotic grounds.
I have covered civil unrest across America and at the southern border for long enough to know that the people flood to the streets for their cause, or those who flood to the border, take these actions because they believe that America is the best country for an opportunity to make a better life.
That is why at the Resilient show we believe that you—supporters of our veterans and of celebrators of the Red White and Blue—deserve the opportunity to participate in our mission: to rescue and to revivify the spirit of the American way.
What questions do you want to ask our lawmakers? or the White House? or our law enforcement officers? Or the leaders of our service men and women in the DoD?
Subscribe to Resilient Times and reply in the comments with the questions you'd like to ask. I've lived in this place they call the District of Columbia for 17 years, so I have a couple of doors upon which I can knock. I will make sure we get your questions to the folks who claim to be in charge.
Thank you for joining us on our mission! I will be sure to bring your RESILIENT questions to Washington, a city of soft hands and silk ties that could certainly use some lessons in how to be more resilient and less willing to cave to the special interests over real Americans like you.
